Vermont Trapper Education Course


Overview

Before taking the Trapper Education course, students must first complete the prerequisite online course or have a completed manual & workbook. Trapper Education students are required to bring the online course completion certificate, or a completed workbook when they come to class.

Would-be trappers must successfully complete the Trapper Education course in order to purchase their trapping license. All courses, reading materials, and exams are written at a 6th grade reading level.

Courses are available year-round, but our peak season is August through October. If you fail to find a course that meets your needs, check back frequently. This site is updated as new courses are scheduled.

All courses are led by certified volunteer instructors, all are free, including materials.
