About the Class

Bowhunter education courses will provide instruction in the safe use of bowhunting equipment, the fundamentals of bowhunting, shooting and hunting techniques, game identification, conservation management as well as hunter ethics.

Bowhunter education classes are offered by knowledgeable and dedicated volunteer instructors for students 12 through 29 years of age. Students 11 years of age and older on the examination day will be able to take the test and complete the course and may be issued a certificate of successful completion of the course.

How Long is the Course?

The Classroom Course must include a minimum of 8 hours of instruction and be a minimum 2 sessions. Most classes offered are 3 to 5 sessions.

Can I Use My Certification from Another State?

Certification from those states and provinces that include bowhunting as a just a portion of their Hunter Education Course will not meet the requirements for bowhunting certification in Nebraska. Be aware, we honor only a separate Bowhunter Education Course, and your proof must clearly state it is a BOWHUNTER EDUCATION COURSE.
